Villa Joya
The restaurant was founded in 1982 and operates on a seasonal basis from March to November. Its cuisine is headed by the renowned two Michelin-starred chef Dieter Koschina, whose skill and culinary vision have made Villa Joya one of the most prestigious gastronomic destinations in the region.
The House of Joy is named after the family’s daughter, Claudia and Klaus Jung, who bought the villa in 1979. Today, Joy Jung is the sole owner of Villa Joya.

Alberto Augusto Foz
Welcome to Foz do Douro’s oldest food and liquor store.
Founded in April 1954 by Alberto Augusto Leite, this shop quickly became a landmark in the city of Porto for its carefully selected selection of the best foreign and local products. After the founder’s death, one of the pioneers, Arnaldo Luis Cerqueira, expanded the business by opening a new space in Garrafeira, and has continued the company’s success to this day.

He is considered by many to be a true “Master Chef”, not only for the creativity and high quality reflected in his every dish, but also for the exceptional organisational skills with which he leads his teams.
Born and raised in Bragança, António Bóia moved to France at the age of 13, where he started his first steps in the restaurant industry as a kitchen assistant and waiter.
His passion for cooking grew and in 1987 he joined the famous Le Cordon Bleu Institute.
Returning to Portugal in 1992, António Bóia worked at Alcantara Café and Hotel da Lapa, then joined the Penha Longa team.
His passion is reflected at every stage of his career. Selecting the best products, knowing where they come from and being able to present them perfectly – this has become António Bóia’s culinary signature.

Hotel Vila Foz
